Upcoming Event: PanSIG 2026, May 24th in Nagoya
Join us on Sunday from 10:50-11:55 in room 606.
The Critical Thinking SIG Forum will feature presentations that propose approaches that encourage critical thinking in language classrooms. Among the topics to be covered this year are using logical fallacies to build safer and more engaged discussion spaces, exploring emotional reactions in media literacy courses, and examining critical thinking through game design.

Call for Presenters: Critical Thinking in the Classroom 2026
We will be holding our annual critical thinking focused event on September 12th at Shonan Women’s University in Tokyo (Near Sangenjyaya).
The JALT Critical Thinking SIG invites you to its annual conference at Showa Women’s University in Tokyo, Critical Thinking in the Classroom 2026 (CTC 2026). At its heart, CTC 2026 is about bringing together a community of researchers and practitioners to share their findings and experiences related to critical thinking in the language classroom.

Call for Presenters: The CT SIG Forum at JALT2026
JALT 2026 will be held at WINC Aichi in Nagoya from November 20th to November 22nd, 2026.
The JALT Critical Thinking SIG will be hosting a forum at this conference, so we are looking for forum presenters to speak on research or practice related to the use, promotion, or development of critical thinking or higher order thinking skills in language education. The amount of time for each presenter will depend on the number of proposals accepted. Submissions are open to both CT SIG members and non-members. The deadline for submissions is June 12th, 2026.
